Every carousel has a "lead horse".  Traditionally, that horse is the largest and most ornate. 

For the Oakland Beach Carousel, that horse is Acorn.  While not our most ornate, he is the first to be designed, built, carved and painted by our volunteers.  Born on October 10, 1998 - Acorn has a simple, friendly face and his trappings represent the oak leaves and acorns of Oakland Beach.
